COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM
The purpose of the College Prep Program is to assist students as they embark upon their future college and career planning. At the beginning of Freshman year each student is advised on how to plan their high school experience in order to reach their goals both academically and professionally.
College Prep 101 Class
College Prep 101 Class meets once a week for all juniors and seniors of O’Connell College Preparatory School. The objective of the class is for students to understand all facets of college and career planning. The seminar strives to allow the students an opportunity to become familiar with the college admissions and financial aid process. Also, the class encompasses the following areas:- Essay Writing and Applications for Apply Texas and Common App
- Resume Writing
- General Questions Concerning College (Roommates, schedules, and general college questions)
- Job Shadowing
- ACT/SAT Prep
- College Visits
- Scholarship Applications/Essays
- College Fairs
- College Interviewing Techniques
- Interest Inventories
- PIN # and FAFSA Forecaster
